The Hotel Association Roteiros de Charme currently brings together 69 hotels, inns ecological refuges, historic farms and manor houses, from north to south of Brazil, in 16 states and 60 tourist destinations.
Founded in 1992 as a nonprofit private entity, its members are selected annually by the variety of its features and independent personalities, according to strict criteria as to comfort, quality service and environmental responsibility, always in an economically viable and sustainable manner.
It is an initiative consistent with the products referred as "luxury", "thematic hotels", "wellness", "boutique hotels", an hotel that combines the principles of "fair trade", "slow food" and international trade (ethics and social responsibility).
Since 1999 its Code of Ethics and Environmental Conduct was adopted, recognized nationally and internationally, developed in close cooperation with the Tourism Program, based in Paris, of UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), UN environment agency, with whom the Association has formal cooperation agreement since 2003.
Roteiros de Charme Hotel Association is an Affiliate Members of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the UN tourism agency based in Madrid.
